Robert Hammons, 49, was riding his '91 Harley south down Clark Road when he was struck by a Ford Focus driven by Jennifer Pospychala, 44, as she attempted to cross an intersection northward. He tried to avoid her but still hit the Ford's front end, sending him sliding southwards toward Paradise Garden Center. His bike continued down the street, coming to a stop in the middle of Clark Road where it burst into flames.
Only two days earlier, Kristopher Dudar, 20, was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident right in this same area. Coincidentally, Kristopher's father, Brian Dudar, and family happened to be nearby remembering their son when the accident occurred. Brian rushed to the scene to give aid to Hammons, asking him questions to help him maintain awareness and stabilizing his head until emergency officials arrived.
Paradise Post reports that according to witnesses Hammons was well within the speed limit when the accident occurred. This terrible incident is another in a sad line that have occurred along State Route 191. Locals were shocked to hear of another accident so soon, pleading for additional safety measures including stop lights and a lowered speed limit.
Police are still investigating the accident. Notably, a CalTrans project to improve Buschmann Road is currently postponed. Read the Paradise Post for continuing news: Paradise Post
